John has been working and partnering with Nonprofit executives and organizations throughout North America for over 35 years. He and his team help National and Regional organizations grow their revenue, improve their effectiveness, and fill the gap during leadership transitions.

Over the years, John's clients have included entrepreneurial start-ups to organizations celebrating their 150th anniversary. This includes private schools, foster care agencies, museums, membership organizations like yacht clubs, rescue missions, large and small church boards, family and church foundations, camps, overseas agencies, orphanages, hospitals, inner-city and urban agencies serving the poor, colleges as well as faith-filled family businesses - and their leaders - among others.

John has served on the teaching faculty of City Vision College, Azusa Pacific University, Artios Institute; and TSG’s Virtual Leadership Institute; and has also served as an Independent Study Advisor in Leadership for Bakke Graduate University, and as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Des Moines, Washington as well as Board Chair of Des Moines Creek Classical Christian Academy and La Casa de Los Niños, an orphanage he built in Maneadero, Mexico while leading an alliance of six southern California churches (renamed La Casa del Rey). In the Spring and Fall, John also serves as a National Evaluator with the Association for Biblical Higher Education to aid in the accreditation of bible colleges in North America.

He has been a national columnist or contributor for InSite Magazine, Church Executive Magazine, Planned Giving Today as well as the Publisher of Boardwise, a bi-monthly newsletter on Stewardship and Leadership for board members of Christian ministries in North America. John is also a Founding Member of the Alliance for Board Effectiveness, a professional peer group of national experts who consult with nonprofit and ministry boards.  He continues to serve as Co-Founder and vice-chair for Maui Rescue Mission and is a board member with East Harlem Fellowship and the National Center for Fathering.

He can be found teaching fundraising, leadership, and board development at various national conferences and events throughout North America. John is most often retained to help clients grow their revenue, build their board, and transition through changes in leadership.
